  • You feel stuck despite previous therapy.

  • You want focused time to work on a specific issue.

  • Weekly therapy doesn't fit your schedule.

  • You're ready to explore a more concentrated approach to therapy.

What Happens in a Half-Day Intensive?

Before our Half-Day Intensive, we will have our free, 30 minute consultation. During that consultation, we will discuss what specific goal you would like to work on, previous mental health experiences, and relevant background information. I will also provide some education on what EMDR therapy looks like and what to expect.

In the beginning of the Intensive, we create our road map for the 3 hours based off of our consultation. We do this to make sure we can prioritize our time so your most important goals of this intensive gets the focus and attention it desires.

Next, we discuss what EMDR calls resources and what many others would call relaxation and coping skills. EMDR can be very emotional and intense work, so reviewing and learning some skills can be very important to help this process go as smooth as possible.

Then, is the reprocessing stage. This is where we dive into the negative thoughts, experiences, and emotions we identified on our road map. We help guide your brain to heal and create healthier and more adaptive neural pathways that lead to permanent change.

Finally, we close our session together. We review all of the work we have done and create a plan for next steps on your own journey by yourself or with a mental health professional.
